WG-T | Bogor – An appropriate arrangement of land tenure in natural resources management,including in forest sector, is an absolute condition for materialization the management of eternal forest. The fact that there are approximately 33 thousands villages that reside around the state forest area have become a challenge for Indonesian Government to manage land tenure appropriately and equitably.
As a matter of fact, many conflicts of land tenure occurred between the community that reside around the state forest areas and the governmental or private managerial units. To resolve the conflicts permanently, an exact and systematic strategic measures for the settlement of the conflicts would be needed. Human resources that have the competency and capacity in commiting the conflict mediation were also needed regarding the conflict occurance.
One of the methods to develop competency and capability of human resources is by organizing a Conflict Mediation Program. In order to arrange the Curriculum and Syllabus (Kursil) for Mediation Program of Natural Resources Conflict Management, WG-Tenure in cooperation with Forestry Training Center and Impartial Mediator Networking (IMN) arranged a discussion about aforementioned Kursil that held on Tuesday, 9 September 2014 in Cendana Meeting Room (Ruang Rapat) at Forestry Training Center, Bogor.
With the invention of Curriculum and Syllabus for Mediation Program of Natural Resources Conflict Management, it is expected to become a treatise or reference and a standardization for the implementation of various training programs that related to conflict mediation, specifically in natural resources management sector in Indonesia.
